Spend a Day at Golden Bay

Not many things beat a day by the beach, right?  While in Malta, if you want to be awed by natural beach beauty, swim in pristine clear waters and appreciate stunning rugged cliff faces, Golden Bay is the place to be.  Il-Mixquqa, as it is called in Maltese language, is the largest sandy beach on Malta’s North Western coast.  While by local standards the location is geographically remote, away from central busy Malta, the beach is easily accessible thanks to good public transport and road networks. This unspoilt blue flag beach attracts many people for swimming, snorkelling, and watersports facilities, whilst its fine golden sand offer beach-goers a soft padding to chilling out on, while topping up that much needed summer tan! Sunsets are spectacular here, making it a perfect spot for evening beach parties and romantic sunset boat trips!  When in the area, one may also visit neighbouring Għajn Tuffieħa Bay, however, be prepared to descend and ascend a staircase of approximately two hundred steps. It is suggested to visit the cliff edge historic defense tower built in 1637 by the Knight of Malta, which lies between Golden Bay and Għajn Tuffieħa Bay. The three hundred sixty degree view from here, is truly Instagrammable!
